Flat Screen Televisions

Flat screen TVs have become very popular in recent years, and the makes and models are many and varied. Panasonic, Sony, NEC, JVC, and ViewSonic are just a few of the companies that manufacture Flat screen TVs. In this article I will give the pro and cons of two of the most popular brands, Panasonic and Sony.

Panasonic offers four different models of the Flat Screen TVs, but I will focus on the two of the newest. These are the TH-42PHD6UY, TH42PX2OUP. We'll look at the attributes of these two models. First, the TH-42PHD6UY offers the industry's highest quality in contrast, definition, and color gradation. It also incorporates advanced digital processing, adaptive brightness intensifier, false edge predictor circuit and UXGA/HDTV compatibility.

The main attributes of the TH42PX2OUP are Built-in NTSC Tuner and 5-Channel Speaker System Lightweight, Ultra-Thin Design with sleek pedestal stand 1280 x 768 pixel resolution HDTV 1080i compatibility and much more.

Now for the Sony brands. Sony offers 5 models of Flat Screen TVs, two of them new. We'll look at the new additions to the line. First, the PFM42B2U. Billed as the thinnest Flat Screen TV now manufactured, the picture is stunning, and the design of the TV itself makes it a bit of a work of art. High definition, and a new progressive scan converter add to the myriad of options available with the TV. The down sides are no built in amplifiers and limited input selection.

And, last but not least, the Sony PFM 50C1. A 50 inch screen with EDTV Plasma display. This one also has the progressive scan converter and an awesome visual display. But, as with the other one, no built in amplifiers and a limited input selection.

So, if your in the market for a Flat Screen TV, best advice is to shop around for quality, price and the features you want most in your new Flat Screen TV.
